Material Overview:
The semi-steel rolls have a series of carbon contents due to different performance requirements. When wear resistance is the primary consideration, a higher carbon level is adopted; when strength is the main factor, a lower carbon content level should be used. The heat treatment process is normalizing + tempering. When the hardness is low, a softening annealing process is used to obtain granular pearlite; when the hardness is high, an elimination stress annealing without affecting the microstructure is adopted. The low-hardness semi-steel rolls have good tensile strength and good heat cracking resistance.
